About Me
Hi and welcome! I'm Rachel. I'm so glad you're here!
First of all, I LOVE MY JOB. Whether you want lasting memories of your wedding day, or images of your family playing at the beach, I want to be there to capture your moment in time and create images you can treasure forever. People often ask me why I wanted to be a photographer, and my answer is always the same, "because I've never not been a photographer." It's the magic behind that simple photograph that tells such an elaborate story, and it's the people I meet and stories I get to tell that make this the perfect job.
My Experience
I consider myself one of the most experienced photographers in the portrait industry. I shot my first wedding in 2007 and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Art, with a Concentration in Photography in 2009 from San Jose State University. I pride myself on my advanced editing and retouching skills. I frequently get asked to teach my techniques and have taken on many new photographers as students.
The Story of How I Got Here
My love for photography started in my junior year of high school when I picked up a film camera and took my first photography class. From that moment, I fell in love with working in the darkroom and creating art.
When I graduated high school, I was offered a swimming scholarship to San Jose State University where I earned my BA. In 2016 I relocated to the Central Coast after living in San Diego for almost 10 years. When I first moved to San Diego, I earned my Private Pilot's License and started doing aerial photography out of a plane. My passion for portraits and weddings began shortly after and has remained my sole focus.
